Quality

We at Geraedts foundry give high priority to good quality of our castings. To assure that this quality lives up to standard, we produce our alloys according to the latest international standards. With each batch, we perform certain inspections to guarantee the casting possesses the quality it needs.

Certificates
Geraedts foundry is certified by Lloyd's for castings in both grey and ductile iron, with a maximum weight of 6000 kg.

Materials

Geraedts foundry produces castings in grey and ductile irons. If needed, the castings can receive a heat treatment afterwards to relief the casting of internal stresses or to enhance material properties. This, of course, providing that the alloy used allows heat treatment.
We take our service one step further by allowing customers to demand for a custom alloy. Our standard range of materials are:

Ductile irons:

• EN-GJS-400-18 to EN-GJS-700

Grey irons:

• EN-GJL-150 to EN-GJL-350

Special Alloys:

• A.D.I.
• Ni-Hard
• Speciale alloys upon request

Inspections

For each batch we perform at least a spectral mass analysis and a visual inspection of the product. In this way, we ensure that the casting is of the right alloy and that the dimensions and finishing are according to requirements. If our customers wish to, we perform additional inspections like:

• Mechanical inspections
• Tensile test
• Hardness test
• Shear properties

• Non-destructive testing
• Ultrasound inspection
• Magnetic surface crack test
• Penetrant inspection
• Metallographic check
